Installing Dedicated Power Lines -- Need Advice
+1 for House!Though I could see him being somewhat wearying on our boards ;)
Suggestion for Audiogon Forums
I sympathize artemus. There are striking quantities of Extremely Confident, Contemptuous, Opinions on offer these days, which turns some threads into ECCO chambers!
Anyone every tried Audio Nirvana single driver speakers???
I don't know AN, but my current office system speakers are the Fostex based Brine 2000.  I've previously owned the Vaughn Cabernet's, an "augmented" Fostex designed with powered base driver and ribbon tweeter.  Not quite the large driver you are c...

I wonder if you like a little more forward presentation than I do, which is one way of characterizing the difference between the Os and the 9s.I didn't know about Bache, but something like that might be true of them: looks like metal high end driv...

Installing Dedicated Power Lines -- Need Advice
Well, maybe not a cure for insomnia!  But I never did regret doing my lines, and eliminating one potentially messy variable, even if there was not an audible 'wow'.  And the sticker price will seem muted, as part of a larger rehab. On the speakers,...
Installing Dedicated Power Lines -- Need Advice
dkidknow:I seem to have heard differences in cabling, including power cords, and as I said, I have not heard conspicuous differences with dedicated lines. (Of course, lines not an easy change to meaningfully A/B).So I hunch you'll hear more from ...

sokogear:  Thanks for your thoughts.  You might review my post higher up on the thread, where I use the example of finding a bargain at an estate sale and flipping for profit to make a point very similar to the one you've just made.  I suspect us ...
Sellers: When do you drop your price?
gano, although I spoke on the other side, I totally hear you.hilde's 75 bucks is neither here nor there, but  the extent to which one thinks of one's hobby and fellow hobbyists  in terms of profit is something worth thinking about. No disrespect to...
Second opinions — how have others (including non-audiophiles) helped you?
Completely agree, hilde!I call it the "partner test": if my partner, who enjoys music a lot, but is not a hobbyist, could not hear an upgrade, I'd start to think I was "squinting" to see a difference to justify the expense.  If it's an improvement...
Sellers: When do you drop your price?
Way to break out the Latin rhetoric, hilde!  :)
Sellers: When do you drop your price?
dill +1Good for you hilde, you moved the gear quickly, and can claim some vindication regards those who hammered you a bit on the initial price.I've never made money selling gear, and never tried, but it's hard to see how this could be morally obj...
Marten Oscar Duo BIG BARGAIN !...
Maybe I've not shopped for speakers recently enough, but I'd be a little surprised if small two-way monitors sounded like a BIG BARGAIN at 7k + 1k for stands.OTOH, that hard bound owner's manual couldn't be cheap ;)
