What DAC upgrade made you say “DAMN, that sounds SO MUCH better than my last DAC”?
Just don't build a lot of systems with your favorite. You don't want to pop the bubble.
A full range speaker?
I attempt to build systems reaching under 25Hz, my criteria for full range in any speaker attempt at SOTA.Systems reaching down to 15Hz are an entirely different experience.   :)
When Everything Comes Together
In 40 years of this hobby it has been impossible to consistently attain a perfect listening session every time. Imo, the variables of time, inclination, pain/or not, distraction, tiredness, maybe even barometric pressure, and other hard to isolate...
Do You Ever Find Yourself Unable to Listen To Your System?
Note: in the book iDisorder, I believe by Rosen, there is a direct positive correlation between screen use of all types (phone, computer,  TV, etc.) And depression.  An important read.
What speaker has the best tweeter?
For something different in regard to tweeters, read my review of the Aspen Acoustics Lagrange L5 MkII Speaker at Dagogo.com
Do You Ever Find Yourself Unable to Listen To Your System?
Whether an audio system sounds good is vastly influenced by our predisposition. Never feel an emotional empathy, guilt, or necessity for a machine. Do not give your life to a machine. Use them, dispose of them, watch them prove the Second Law of T...
Poor grammar is disappointing and decidedly distracting in formal audio reviews.
A person's character is revealed by their communication. I spend quite a bit of time editing my reviews for Dagogo.com, sometimes nearly as much as the time involved in writing the article. I often pore over them anywhere from three to five times ...
Amplifier Break-in - It's Real
rodman99999, thank you for the correction, that you were specifying electrical theory. I appreciate the clarification. Ok, I'll "untrigger" on that topic. In regard to physics and QM, take a look at Spephen Meyer's "Return of the God Hypothesis". ...
Amplifier Break-in - It's Real
rodman99999, by your comment, " If I'm found religiously putting my faith in measurements and theories. developed in the 1800s and found sorely lacking, in the early 1900s, to explain what was so commonly being observed in the universe," that is a...
Will the placement of casters on speaker stands degrade the performance
No one can answer your question definitively because it comes down to your subjective impression. I have used both casters and hard rubber hockey pucks alternatively in place of spikes. Imo, the activity of lofting the speaker via these devices is...
Amplifier Break-in - It's Real
I'm not denying atmasphere's discussion of measured differences. In fact, I have heard of it before. No surprise. The question is whether those differences are resulting in audible differences, and whether that can be demonstrated. If it could be ...
The Exogal saga continued....
Other than informing the community, it was a waste of time to talk to you. I am finished with this conversation.
The Exogal saga continued....
rotrchia, you answered with more restraint and consideration, so I will continue discussion. :) More than once you have referred to, "various videos," as if I have made it a particular point to promote Exogal, or in some fashion do videos to help ...
The Exogal saga continued....
Exogal has shown it is willing to defend itself. I review; I"m not a PR agent. The seemingly fictitious comparisons you present I would challenge regardless of the company involved. I wrote the reviews of the Comet and Ion, and did the video inter...
Amplifier Break-in - It's Real
invalid, that is precisely the comparisons I have done, not only with an amp, but with several components together! Read my articles "Audiophile Law: Thou Shalt Not Overemphasize Burn In", and "Burn In Test Redux" at Dagogo.com, and you will see t...
