Those with DACs, how do you view and select your music?
If you like your Oppo DAC you can keep your Oppo DAC...  Of course there is always something better...
Liking MQA
What part of Lossy don’t you understand??? MQA is Lossy!!! Meaning there is Small Signal Corruption with MQA... Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) is an audio codec using Lossy compression and a form of file fingerprinting, intended for "high fide...
Best DAC for my system?
Seems you have about 7.5k to 8k invested in your system so far... You owe it to your self to upgrade your source, streamer/dac... 2k to 2.5k seems about the right balance with your current kit... Benchmark and Chord are good suggestions... You mig...
It isn't the bits, it's the hardware
There's Life Above 20 Kilohertz...  -ducks and runs away-
does MacBook Pro need a DAC?
Depending on your "receiver", you may do better with USB, HDMI or even ethernet/wifi from your MacBook Pro to your "receiver"... I have used all three from my MacBook Pro to my Yamaha AVR, which in my opinion, sounds much better than analogue head...
Hunting Unicorns
I agree and having access to streamers thru a web interface is not a bad idea... Have a look at the Lumen U1 or U1 mini... An iPhone, iPad or Android app is needed or Roon... I kind of like my U1 mini...

Higher End DACs
Nice kit so far...  You probably owe it to yourself to hear a Chord Dave and the Hugo M scaler...  And have a look at the Lumin U1 or U1 Mini as a streamer...
I finally realized wires do matter a LOT.
Go ask Maxwell, Tesla and Faraday...
The Modern DAC killed High Resolution Music - has Stereophile proven it?
Three things come to mind...  First, many DACs do upscaling/upsampling internally...  Second, often the provenance of a music file is unknown...  Is it just upsampled Redbook or a Studio Master that was really recorded at a higher resolution... La...
Moving up from a Node 2i
Noise ingress and egress and jitter are issues with transports/streamers...Amir does an excellent job of covering jitter...https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/digital-audio-jitter-fundamentals.1922/#p
Would this room treatment be worthwhile?
@audiozenology is correct... Any diffusion or absorption is better than nothing... I would look at putting a 2 inch thick wideband absorber over the surface of the plasma TV and some diffusion above and to the sides if there is room... I use a GIK...
Streamer and DAC for Mcintosh MC462 and C22
