Anybody here upgrade from Chord Qutest DAC"
Both the Qutest and Hugo TT2 have a 10 element pulse array design...The Qutest has 49,152 16FS WTA 1 filter...  The Hugo TT2 has 98,304 taps...  Dave has 164,000 taps and a 20 element Pulse Array...  The MScaler takes either the Qutest, Hugo TT2 o...
Anybody here upgrade from Chord Qutest DAC"
With that ear 868l pre there is no sense going with the TT2...  Do you need an additional embedded pre in the loop? Keep the Qutest and add an Mscaler or go to the Dave...  You don't say what your streamer is...  Maybe an upgrade there would help....
can someone have a look at this spectrogram / waveform is this music or noise?
Above ~22KHz is most likely noise... Could be introduced by re-sampling/upscaling/noise shaping, pushing noise up and out of the audible range (is there life above 20KHz?)... Do you know the provenance of this recording?
Another beginner question...
Have you tried Bluetooth wireless streaming from your iPhone to the Teac AI101-DA DAC integrated amplifier... Might be a little easier to use than wired USB...  There is no analogue out on the newer iPhones...  They are all Bluetooth wireless now ...
Another beginner question...
It might help if you gave the make and model of the equipment involved in your question... Someone might RTFMs and give an answer...  Or give other alternatives...
Thoughts on Tube vs SS amplification for Sony SS AR1s
sfmorris,I suspect the orthodox SS amp manufactures think the way to manage or handle "difficult loads" are to double the watts to drive the speakers into submission, when not all speakers have the same impedance curves, much to the chagrin of tho...
Thoughts on Tube vs SS amplification for Sony SS AR1s
I have seen this same phenomena play out with electrostats... Where most Solid State amps that double down/up on watts vs ohms just don’t sound very good while reasonably decent tubed amps, with much lower watts, sound wonderful... Excellent Trans...
Lumin T2 dac gone bad? distortion "spitting" "splatty" in mids/highs
It sounds like a gain structure issue... Peter is a smart guy... I would listen to him and not worry about the "so called" Normal setting... It is all about matching voltages between components... If you really want to learn, search for "gain stru...
Best SQ Boost for Budget?...
Source would give you a nice boost... In your case it would be the DAC... Try to reach up for something like a Benchmark DAC3 or a Chord Qutest being pretty transparent, low noise floor and remarkable transients...  Crisp, clear and clean...
Where would you place Symposium Rollerblocks for best results on digital equipment?
You might want to put some Felt under you DAC too... It would be helpful to give us an idea of what components you have in you system...

You might want to try to contact Peter (wklie) over here: https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/14016-lumin-audiophile-network-music-player/page/106/
Upping my digital game
You could look at MinimServer it runs on a few platforms... I run it on a MacBook Pro as well as a Windowz Custom i7700k where I have my local music files... A Lumin U1 mini on a wired LAN along with WiFi... The Lumin U1 mini is in front of a Chor...
Higher sample rate than 16 bit redbook

Seeking advice on purchasing a new streamer
Your Chord Qutest internally upsamples everything already... I have a Lumin U1 mini feeding my Qutest and love the combination... If you really want to play around with upsampling and filtering try SoX its free... The Qutest has galvanic USB that ...
Is it possible to transfer analog tone and soundstage of vintage reel to reel to digital.
I think your injecting noise into the small signals...  Sometimes noise can sound good (think tubes)...  And it is noise nonetheless...
