practical point of view as well.. the easier the operation, setting the easier to hit optimum. and also learn the most how to be a better turntable user. as tt is complex but becomes easier when parameter easy and consistent to control. too fancy ...

very good question and point. I heard a 1 million usd systemVS 100k system. same brand speakers and amps. diff level yes alot better the 1 million dollar one. it's like surround sound. and detail is out of the world  the sound cover the whole big ...

agree dd is better. less hassle switching speed etc. less maintenance issues like loose belt. fast on off. the most important is the adjustability opitions  of the tonearm IMHO. and the type of compliance range  you want to play with. tonearm is a...

Kenwood Kp990 and above are wonderful. with ah great mid compliance tonearm. easy to adopt multiple tonearm with simple mods. very easy to use and great. technics.. if you get a very good condition tonearmbof epa100. the ruby bearings easily crush...

those conical are magic sounding. we also use them for casual listening m44, Stanton 500, denon. different energy. also I used some of the new hyper eleptical eleptical  didn't last as long as those old stuff. made in China even.. that's the worst

@tzh21y iq3 is same as 1042 but with audio note tweak. supposed to be better. but tip replacement can use 1042.. I haven't tried it. 1042 if buy eBay 400 or less. gyger is mentioned to be a form of line contact by vdh. it look like a claw. so not ...
