RME ADI-2 DAC FS is it "All That", especially for under $2,000?
Agree with @jeenam thats it’s an honest DAC. It is accurate but with no glare or harshness whatsoever. Can listen to the RME for hours with no fatigue whatsoever. Now if ones system is thin or bright to begin with then yeah it might just pass the ...
A warm DAC?
The RME is neutral but on the warmer side than analytical. If it’s sounds bright on ones system then they probably should work on theIr equipment or their room first. In my system the RME has me listening to music I haven’t in years as my system h...
A warm DAC?
RME ADI-2 DAC fs. Was going to type something real long - just check it out. $1099 new, thirty day trial.
RME ADI-2 DAC FS is it "All That", especially for under $2,000?
@sathtomCambridge 851C CDP/DAC. It’s a full CD player with preamp out and DAC input in - same as the 851D. The 851C is very good and I’m keeping it to use as a transport but the RME is a better DAC, more refined by a good margin.
New Preamplifier
Maybe the manufacturer messed up and exported it to Japan and it was sent back after they figured it out and the dealership had nothing to do with it or has any idea? Guessing this same preamp is sold in various countries as well. Probably getting...
want a CD player upgrade
@donpepeI too have a Cambridge 851C with SR Black and still feel for the money it’s a fine player, but that being said I just picked up an RME ADI-2 fs DAC and it’s hands down better, and not just a different sound. Bought new for $1099 with a 30 ...
Audio Research CD-2, any still using, or feedback on your experience.
Owned one when it first came out and recall it was a nice player but maybe overpriced a bit. Don’t remember that well but it was a little on the warmer side, non fatiguing player for sure. Felt at the same time the Arcam 9 CD Ring DAC was a better...
Anyone open up the case on a Bluesound Vault 2?
@lowrider57 I haven’t opened my Vault 2 yet but interested if @richdirector received the power supply from Fidelity Audio, how it went and if the improvement was worth the price? I did pick up a RME ADI 2 fs and I’m very happy with this DAC. The D...
supra coax cable upgrade
I take it the Supra has 100+ hours on it? I’ve not used a Supra coax but have their ethernet and power cord and was very impressed with them, especially for the money. If you want to try something cheap that is very good look into the Canare with ...
Chord Dave - Missing soundstage width
Is the stage actually wider on the Orchid or does the stage just sounds like a wall of music, and not saying it doesn’t have a pleasing sound. Is the Dave maybe quieter, more space between the instruments and maybe at a quick observation comes acr...
RME ADI-2 DAC FS is it "All That", especially for under $2,000?
I am a recent RME owner and I would guess I have forty hours on my unit and I’m very impressed with this DAC, even out of the box I was impressed. As soon as I hooked it up I did not use use the stock PC into the switched power supply but an extra...
Time to upgrade DACs
I dragged home the Marantz HD DAC1 and thought it was nice. Not knowing your speakers I would agree it might make sense to sell them off with the subs, take that money along with the $2500 and visit speakers. No doubt a better DAC may get you what...
Best DAC for around $2,500 or less
Unless the Oppo Sonica is better than the 205 which I own, the RME ADI-2 fs is superior. It’s not just a different sound, but cleaner, smother, bottom end more extended and controlled... better all around. I have not heard the Sonica so it might b...
Pass labs x250.8 stereo amp in San Diego?
Can’t speak for the .8 series but I own the original x250 and it’s still a fine amp. I was fortunate to bring home a used .5 and yes I could hear the difference but as it goes I could not justify the difference between selling mine and buying the ...
Best DAC for around $2,500 or less
RME ADI-2 fs is an outstanding DAC. Remarkable what this thing does and how wonderful it sounds for the money. Was using the DAC in my Cambridge 851C with SR Black fuses and it’s no slouch but the RME is just better across the board. Even out of t...
