Mcintosh MC275 versus MC501 ?

I have an MC275 and love it, but would like tighter bass. By moving to MC501's, will there be any loss in the fine detail the MC275 has?

Could you please list your complete system including cables, etc. It very well may be a matter of properly configuring your system as it is right now, and not simply a matter of switching amplifiers.

As far as detail I would think the solid state may be more analytical. MHO of course.

The 805's are great speakers, but will not thunder on their lowest frequencies...Nice system, as is.
