I bought my Topaz 211-C I about 2 1/2 years ago. I saw Roger Hebert's prototype laser etched chassis plates and transformers for the Ruby at that time. It has taken him a long while to bring them to market.

If they better the Topaz they are quite some amplifiers.

I've heard the 211 Ruby along with the Ruby Preamp. Pretty much the best I've heard. Rumors are that a 300B Ruby is in the works too. If true, that should add quite the flavour to the lineup. A 211 AND a 300B to choose from with the top of the line Ruby pre. I'll be lucky to afford the Opal and some Sapphires :D
Have never heard any of the Wyetech amps, but can tell you that after more than 5 years of ownership, the Opal pre is one of the most amazing, satisfying components I have owned in more than 35 years of this mania. It is the one component in my system I never even think of changing, and like many of us, I am constantly looking to "upgrade." It probably will outlast me! And Roger Hebert is a very responsive designer/owner if you ever have any problems (unlikely) or questions.
