Thanks for the replies folks. The Niles switch is something I don't want to use, I don't like anything inline with my expensive speaker cables.
Also, I've tried using the L/R outputs from the receiver into the M3 but I had to have the M3 volume up to max just to get enough volume to match the other speakers. That just scares me knowing that some day, I'll forget that the volume is MAX and blow up something. The M3 is so quiet, you can't tell it's up to max, and the display is so small, it's not obvious from my listening seat.
The solution would be having the firmware upgrade and that's what I heard would do it but nobody, including the Master Series Dealer knows anything about it.
