Catchy tunes that sound great?

I thought of starting this thread after a listen to "What's Going On" by Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass today.

Sounds great! Love the arrangement! Can't get the tune out of my mind!

Is this perhaps the catchiest tune of all time?

Any others come to mind?

If you listen to the top 40 hits enough, even some of the ones you don't like will stick in your head. I think they call this "brainwashing". On a side note, being a trumpet player and a long-time Herb Alpert and the Tiajuana Brass fan, I can relate with you, Mapman.
I listen to top 40 radio in the car with my kids sometimes.

A lot of old am radio and 45 RPM vinyl stuff actually sounds pretty good these days remastered to CD and on a good system.

Many many catchy tunes over the years.

I'll listen to almost anything once.
IIRC, you can talk all you want about a riveting tune that's impossible to get out of your head _while_ Cage's 4'33" is playing. It's four minutes 33 secs of silence--or rather, of ambient auditory information.

Now, 4 min 33 secs of silence in my head--there's a concept.
"It's four minutes 33 secs of silence--or rather, of ambient auditory information"

So how does it sound on a good system? Should be really really......quiet?
