Definitely floor-standers with dual-concentric (pseudo-point source) drivers. With one hell of a tube amp to drive them. For headphones - electrostats by far, also with one hell of a tube amp to drive them. For some reason my ears can no longer tolerate dynamic coil headphones slapping about atop my ears - but it doesn't even matter since e-stats sound way better anyways.
Speaker types- your preference and your journey?
Speakers come in all shapes, sizes and types. In box speakers, we broadly have floor standers and bookshelf. We have electrostatic, planar magnetic, and hybrids. Have you owned and enjoyed more than one type of speaker? What’s your preference presently? I was a devoted Magneplanar owner for years until I heard Revels - I’ve also owned AR’s, Infinity, and presently I own a pair of Wharfdales. I even have a pair of Fraziers in storage.
What has your speaker journey been like?
