Anyone remember Brickhouse by the Commodores? In retrospect, a brick house has nothing to do with a soft curvaceous woman. Seems silly nowadays,
You have to fully understand the hidden meaning of the song "Brick House" to fully appreciate it. In the South and other rural places, outhouses were where you took care of "your business" because rarely was there indoor plumbing. Historically, outdoor toilets (outhouses ) were cheap, temporary wooden shacks meant to be moved once the latrine pit filled up. An outhouse constructed with actual bricks was a highly unusual, permanent structure built to last. Therefore, being compared to a "brick shithouse" means someone is incredibly tough, well-constructed, and strong.
The Commodores could not title a song so they shortened it to "Brick House". I’ve heard MANY bands perform this song live, and when they do, a band member always chimes in,
