If I were to spend my money again, especially with what I have settled with today.
I would not purchase a Speed Controller for an Idler Drive TT if I were considering a second TT, especially a DD TT from the likes of Technics.
When considering the brand Technics, there are models that cost near the price of a Speed Controller purpose-produced for an Idler Drive, and other commonly referred to models are surpassing the Speed Controller's price by up to 100%.
My strong suggestion is to fulfil the ambition to experience the Technics 1300G, but only fully commit to the purchase after having received a demo of it in use. This will give a good guide to the new experience being pursued and keep $2K+ in your coffers for an extended period when the early learning is occurring.
