Amazing.  On par with Hackney Diamonds.

Really Good!

I think sound quality for  most including in some cases more recently digitally remastered versions ranges from OK to pretty good.   Most are neither top notch nor horrible.

However the high res Qobuz version of the new album did strike me as subpar.  Dynamically compressed and washed out overall.  Not something I am dying to hear again.

@mapman

That's why I don't stream anymore. I much prefer rips, much better quality.

@lordmelton streaming is just the delivery mechanism.  The source material is what it is.  I have many CD res rips myself for compare and find no particular issues with Qobuz, but you never know.  Maybe there is something better out there.  With modern technology anything is possible, both good and bad. Nice to be kids in a candy store in search of the tastiest treats.

Listened to it yesterday on Tidal. The fidelity was ok, it was on the "hollow" side, but fine. The actual music? Well it's ok, sounded like a retread of their 80's mediocre stage. It't not bad, but it is forgettable, almost 0 blues, almost no good rifts, Mick's voice is also not what it used to be. That's all Ok, they are very old, at least they are trying to still be creative.

Now, jack Whites, new album? AWESOME! It's some of his best work in a while, he goes back to his rock/blues roots. Already listed to it twice on Tidal, and twice on record. I really like it!

On that note, the new The Black Keys, Peaches is also on of their best in quite a while, it's my 3rd favorite Keys album.

These guys are in their 80's (OK Ronnie is 79), so they are like the flying elephant, it's not so important how fast he flys, it's simply a miracle that he flys at all.
