One last note on flat panel settings that I haven’t seen recommended:
Turn down the sharpness which superficially etches objects causing grainy artifacts. With 1080p material I usually have sharpness around 5-15%; with UHD I’m at baseline with no boost in sharpness.
Unsure about Samsung, but in both the LG Filmmaker Mode and Cinema Mode, you’ll notice that sharpness is at or near a zero baseline.
When tapping down the sharpness it always looks odd for the first hour or two. After a week boost the sharpness to your previous settings and you’ll realize how etched everything looks. Easy experiment for those that are interested.
