I’m sorry that you’re experiencing this situation. As someone who’s purchased quite a bit of used audio gear over the past few decades, I can certainly understand your frustration. Especially when you’ve lost a significant amount of money.
I’ve usually had positive experiences with other sellers, but on occasion some got kinda flaky when I contacted them in regard to a piece of equipment that was not working properly on arrival. Most failed to respond to my emails.
IME when you’re dealing with vintage gear these types of situations go with the territory unfortunately.
As for your situation where one of two packages was lost, that’s perhaps the most frustrating type of transaction, because you must now research the chain of events that led up to the package going missing. Was it accidentally lost or stolen? And if stolen, by whom and during which leg of its journey?
Ultimately who’s responsible? If the delivery company claims that the package was delivered what proof have they offered?
I hope that you are able to obtain some satisfaction in this situation. If not, it will sadly be an expensive lesson in making certain that your future transactions are protected to the best of your ability.
If at all possible it’s best to pay for the maximum insurance that you can obtain for your package. This way if it’s lost you’ll obtain the full value of whatever you paid for the item whether it’s lost or stolen.
Best of luck with the situation! 👍
