Shunyata X series power cords

Some users report that the v2/X-series can sound a bit lean, and I experienced this firsthand with a v2 XLR interconnect. I am currently interested in the Alpha-X speaker cables, but only if they don’t suffer from the same slightly thin lower register as the v2 XLR I auditioned. Has anyone here tried the Alpha-X speaker cables, and how would you describe their bass performance compared to the v2 generation?

I have a Denali 6000S V2 in a very revealing system (Mola Mola Makua with Tambaqui, Audionet Max amps, Dynaudio Confidence 20's).  When I first bought the Denali, I paired it with a Shunyata  Omega V2 20a power cable.  My other cables were all Kubala Sosna Elation.  After many back and forths, I clearly preferred a K-S Elation 20 a on the Denali as well.  The K-S Elation was more full spectrum, even across the range with less etching in the highs.  At first the Shunyata was impressive, but after long sessions I found it bright, lean and more 'hifi' sounding.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try a new Sigma X  20 amp PC on the Denali.  Again, initial impressions are a wake up for your ears.  Dark, black background,  extended, very resolving.  But again, after longer sessions, I returned to the full natural sound of the Kubala Sosna line.  I have since upgraded to the Kubala Realization series in this system, and it is again a big step up.  My main system received the Ovation loom, and oh my what an improvement again.

Just an update on the Shunyata Alpha-X NR mains power cable.

I’ve earlier reported that there is a significant difference between the Alpha-X NR and Furutech DPS4.1/FI-50 NCF(R) on the Luxman 590AXII integrated, a landslide win for the Shunyata. 

With the Gryphon Diablo 300, although it’s still early impressions the differences between the power cables are rather minor and insignificant. Both Shunyata and Furutech sound good with the Gryphon with minimal differences between them. I will need more time to determine if there is a noticeable difference between the cables, but it will take time. Nevertheless, I feel that the Gryphon isn’t affected too much by mains power cables when compared to the Luxman amplifier. 

Why not LessLoss or Analysis Plus, for AC power cables… ? Might give them a looksie 

@ryder I have had the same experience! AV receivers and integrated amps benefit the most sonically from a hefty upgraded power cord. And much less so with dedicated power amplifiers. So interested to know why.
