There was an explanation on this site on a JPlay thread. Looks like it’s a Qobuz issue and they are working on a fix.

TIDAL has now passed my 12-hour overnight stress test three nights in a row. Every morning when I wake up, the music is still playing. That's excellent. By comparison, Qobuz would often stop randomly sometime during the night. There are still some individuals who insist that Qobuz itself is fine and that the problem must be users' network, streamer, or something else. But if that were the case, why do the exact same network and streamer run flawlessly with TIDAL? That makes it difficult to blame the hardware or network alone. Another interesting observation is that the Volumio app on my Rivo Plus, which used to feel rough and less responsive with Qobuz (even when there weren't any dropouts), is now noticeably smoother with TIDAL. That leads me to believe there are some quirks or inefficiencies in the communication between the Volumio software and the Qobuz app. I don't know exactly what they are, but there is clearly a difference. I haven't heard friends or forum users report similar issues with other streaming services. Based on my experience, this seems to be much more specific to Qobuz than to streaming in general. |
@lanx0003 it’s very possible that Qobuz is still messed up. I know they had migration related issues with this deployment resulting in corrupted files. But that was addressed. However, because it’s the service is cloud based, it’s very possible that different areas of the country are served files from different cloud regions. I’ve not had a Qobuz issue since they resolved it couple of months ago. I’m on the east coast. Very possible though that the west coast is served from another cloud region and that is where the problems still persist. And to your point…I’ve not had a single hiccup with Tidal. Ever. |
Eliminated Roon from the system for any number of reasons and now using Qobuz Connect. Yesterday it had multiple stops and starts, stuttering more than I've had for quite a while, and sometimes when it stopped, it started with the next song on the album. I'll give it a few more tries but it looks like Tidal is in my future. |
