REVERB LOSES PACKAGE AND WON"T PAY LOSS

I hope somehow you solve this.

Yes, always fund paypal or any purchase with your best credit card, to get their fraud protection as a last resort.

Prior to large purchases, I call the credit card company to confirm coverage, they say yes, and they keep records of the calls.

The seller shipped it (not Reverb). It should have had insurance. I prefer to buy the insurance myself so any claim is made by me, not the seller.

One way is to get the seller to drop it off unpackaged, at a UPS Pack and Ship location near them, that you have pre-arranged with. Just tell UPS the weight(s) and size(s). So, you don’t pay seller anything for shipping, you save tax and eBay fees on the cost of shipping .... and UPS is responsible for protection/damages.

It needs to be double boxed for a damage claim.

Avoid the word ’antique’.

Not to defend them in this case, but Reverb was prompt and firm helping me get full refunds twice when problems occurred. Easier and faster than PayPal.

IF you have Credit Card Protection, this is how it helped with me, maybe it will help you.

1. I bought on eBay, paid an invoice for 'goods' (not f&f).

2. seller purchased the shiping/insurance in Canada on a big plinth, TT, tonearm, Dust Cover (just like the replacement I now have).

3. Very poorly packaged, (not double boxed) arrived with multiple damages. I took it to local USA UPS regional center for damage verification. (Canada shipper had transferred it from Canada UPS to USA UPS.

They said, the person who bought the insurance has to make the claim, it has to be shipped back to Canada UPS, seller has to make the claim.

4. After it got back there, Canada UPS says: description says 'antique turntable'. we don't insure antiques. And, it wasn't double boxed, not eligible for a damage claim.

5. add confusion, add PayPal dragging it out, more confusion

6. I called the credit card company. Yes, you are covered for 'fraud' protection. This is how we proceed: We will make a note in the system, give PayPal 14 days to resolve it, then we will take action against PayPal. Usually PayPal tells seller, Pay or we will close your account. 

7. I told seller that had started, PayPal would close his account; seller sent me full refund.

btw, I believe in putting things in writing, and often ask questions of the seller, and get their written confirmation, prior to the purchase, so it's documented, they cannot lie later.

This transaction was done through Reverb and pay-pal, which is really funny because Reverb and pay-pal have a agreement to not let me file a pay-pal claim unless reverb approves it and then they have to get the seller to agree , which won't agree to any settlement...............I was going to pay -pal for help but I find that reverb is who you pay, not the seller........There doesn't seem to be a salution because everybody at Reverb has to agree, so when it comes to a refund nobody agrees........

Why are you not addressing the comments above that if you paid with Pay Pal using a credit card report the issue to your credit card company.  That's the best case scenario.

Sir:    I have never said I paid with a Credit Card, somebody else mentioned a credit card but it wasn't me........I paid with Pay-Pal and they have some agreement with Reverb about making pay-pal claims and pay-pal will not let me file a lost claim........When I paid reverb , it went to reverb not the seller......It's a system that is set up to deceive the buyer into thinking he has some security, but that's a big joke........
