I'm solid. Qobuz connect automatically is gapless, except for a very small pause. I'm tearing out pages of music from audio mags seeing what new I can listen to.
Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?
I have a good analogue front end. Not stratuspherically good but good enough for this comparison. VPI Prime Signature 21 turntable, Pass Labs XP-25 pono preamp, Pass Labs XP-30 preamp and Hovland Radia amp. It has a lovely, very involving sound. On the right recording, I just drop everythng and am drawn in to listen.
My streamer, on the other hand, is decent but not spectacular. It is better than my CD player, but it is not jaw-dropping like my analogue front-end. My question is this: does anyone have a high-end, tier-one streamer (dCS Bartok Apex, Lumin X2, or something like them) that can rival a good analogue system?

True, and I have records that need to be turned over in the middle of a musical phrase. If I remember correctly that is the case on Stravinsky conducting both Rite of Spring and Firebird. On the plus side, though, I listen to music while I'm at my computer and I am supposed to get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so. Turntable good! |
@audio-b-dog Just shooting from the hip here on your network issues. If you are connected straight to your ATT router and you have a TP-Link system, you might try using TP-Link for everything. I ran into an issue with my wifi extender added to my mesh system, and it was acting as a DHCP (assigning IP addresses) server, as was my mesh system. This created confusion and the risk of duplicate IP addresses. I did not read the whole network part of this thread, as it is lengthy, apologies if this is a repeat.
