Speaker cables - cables make a difference

Happy weekend,

I have some PAD speaker cables I had reconditioned

and burnt in a little.  They just opened up this listing session

I just hear that live small group, rock/ folk, Live sound.

its not as deep, and delineating, but you get more the other way.
I like them both.  Reminds me of going to a show.  Happy Loving

This Hobby.

I had my journey from blue jeans cable all the way to my Transparent and each upgrade I had its ups and downs, all i can say, if one hears a difference, then all goes well. if NOT, then maybe one cannot discern. nothing wrong, you just can't hear it

as far as Break in is concerned, i am again a true believer. cables or gear, i really think break in does make changes for the good. and when doing break in, no matter what it is, 200 to 400 hundred hours. others say a lot shorter, but I don't believe that as I tried it. if it passes the 200-hour mark (rough estimate), the sound just transforms. and yes, all my gear where all purchased new. so, break in was a process I did without a doubt and I hear changes

what I cannot explain is the break in of acoustic panel. when my new panels arrived, I expected a change BUT to my disappointment, nothing changed

so, I decided to just play the music loud, put it in streaming, Left the house for 2 days with the music playing, then came back after 2 days and, Wola!! there was a transformation. I scratched my head and said, how the heck did that happen, but I can discern the change.

@joeycastillo if it passes the 200-hour mark…

+1 Instead of figuring out each component, I’m simply using 200hrs as a rough guide meaning patience may be required. Still deciding on the method of breakin - music or specifically sold burnin recordings

Excessive hours burn in skeptic here.  However, if you must, burn in with white noise.  Do not listen to music during whatever burn in time you choose. .

Listen and make detailed notes before burn in and then repeat after white noise burn in.  Invite friends to participate in the before and after listening sessions.

Or, burn in only 1 cable, then compare with a virgin cable.

Sound differences between different LS-Cables. The Hifi-Community does know it since 30 years. 🈵

I agree that the largest perceived changes, if any, occur during the first 5–10 hours, and I don’t believe long burn-in periods are necessary for speaker cables. However, you might as well listen to music during that time instead of living with white noise.

Are you implying that white noise is more effective for burn-in, or are you concerned that listening to music during burn-in will cause you to become accustomed to a less full sound and reduce your ability to discern any improvements afterward? I don’t believe either is true or to the dgree with which you should be concerned.
