Thorens clutch system

The Thorens TD124 utilized a dual platter/clutch system that allows you to flip or remove a record without disengaging the main platter. Pretty clever how they did that-

Has any other manufacturer used a similar clutch system?  I’ve never seen a similar clutch anywhere else, but that certainly does not mean it’s not been done.

@dtorc

last year I put in the Woodsong Audio Saphire bearing- I too needed to adjust the clutch.

Yes - @zavato the Woodsong bearing is what I used, too. It runs beautifully since I installed it. Only this little clutch thing makes it less than perfect.

@dtorc it’s a really easy revision- there are 3 screws to adjust from underneath tge table. It’s also an easy google search for “clutch adjustment”. I wish there was a source for new precut clutch pads - I could not find any so I made my own- paper templates and then cut up some 3M helicopter tape.

To all,

Before I create a general post-inquiry, do you have a recommendation for where (with contact information) to have a TD-124 refurbished (hardware, electronics, plinth)?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
