Great post query and responses!

I love to read what others have/had…especially the notes in each model. The open candor of the members of this blog is great, with rarely a case of another member snapping on a post.

Please keep it rolling….at near 70 I am still looking for vintage TT and cartridge ideas, especially those that are deemed by many as quality and are affordable.

My first deck Summer of 78 was a Denon DP-790 W and a Grado G2 with an upgraded stylus assy … wow

after that an array ..

notables:

Gyrodeck w glass platter, Signet arm n TK9

SOTA Sapphire w an array of arms from Audioquest, Sumiko culminating in a Souther linear tracker. Remember the AQ-404 high output MC ?… sweet midrange w Quad ESL… graduated to a Dynavector Ruby….( and Decca ribbons )

after that a long spell of working and not focusing on analog…

more recently

Basis 1400 rip AJ Conti

Two Denon DP-75

two Brinkmann Bardo w 3 arms available including Triplaner, Brinkmann and and Ortofon RS 309D ….and both the performance SS and RonT II tube power supply

hopefully the road goes on forever….

It would be my pleasure to go through my turntable history from 1978 - 2026, but alias, there is an AI Bot here that removes my posts for no real reason.....

I had cash flow in junior high and high school because of a WP paper route. Then cash and access through work as a salesman in a stereo store as an undergrad.

BSR turntable (1970)

Dual 1215S in first audio system (Sansui 2000x and large Advents; 1972)

Fossilized in place since, except for cartridges- 50 years!
