The Shunyata Research OMEGA-X-Ethernet Cable

frank009

there is something about cables, even ethernet, that adds to the sound. I connected fiber direct to my source to remove all noise and it did, but the sound was completely flat! so now I do a little cascade and still use fiber but the cable that goes into my source is no longer is fiber. I get the fullness back this way. Since then, I have stopped questioning every little detail and claim made by these manufacturers

yes I am still skeptical but I’m at least willing to take a listen

@ejh369 The best length of the cable being shorter is one of the many myths of Cables.

that idea is based on the supposition that there’s some sort of pure source

and anything else is getting in the way, so we want to minimize the interference

that’s not actually how it works

that kind of thinking is actually very Christian as if there was ever some perfect purity some garden of Edan some moment before sin if you will

with certain cables, you can think of them as a color which contributes positively or negatively to the palate of your chain

there's no perfectionism in this, there's no purity

with other Cables, for example some Shunyata research power cords like THETA NR and GAMMA NR you can think of them as a noise reduction device

this noise does impede with the notion of Pure source

and the longer they are the more low end comes in. This could be a good thing or a bad thing see above.

I’m normally skeptical of claims made about power cords’ beneficial impact on sound quality, but your post above is different and brilliant. The articulateness and the symbolism are thought-provoking, at least to me, and it is probably the first time that the written word alone lets me feel the possibility that there may actually be a there there.
