I know a guy who still uses these since they first launched. He can afford nearly anything he wants, but sticks with them as he finds the sound really engaging. Sometimes he switches his source to stay current, but the speakers remain.

For those of you still listening to these speakers, I assume you like them as you’ve chosen not to upgrade over the years. Or perhaps you purchased them used more recently. In any event, I’d love to hear any feedback you wish to share about these speakers (good or bad) if you own or have owned them at some point in the past. I have a potential opportunity to purchase a pair in good condition at a fair price and am curious.

@rjduncan what do you want to achieve and what's your room size? The sub bass could be much for a medium space and the mid bass might be much for a small space.
@kennyc the 800 series use Mundorf caps and air-coil inductors for all versions. The 700 series use Mundorf caps, B&W film caps and air-coil inductors for all versions. |
