Recommendation for a Blue Tooth Adapter for a Vintage Stereo
I would like to stream Public Radio at my remote cabin which is out of range for any of the available stations. I have a vintage Zenith console stereo ( which sounds remarkably good) with tape inputs so I think it will work, given the right adapter and RCA cables.
The price for these adapters varies significantly, so one assumes there are quality differences and that is my question, what to buy. I would just as soon pay a little more for quality sound if the cheaper ones are indeed inferior.
I am open to recommendations or comments from anyone with experience with these. Thank you!
I am assuming that you have verified that you have enough WiFi reception in your remote location to make anything work, or failing that Ethernet. I would consider the Wiim Pro. It has Bluetooth but also does AirPlay and Chromecast. Depending on the WiFi you can also stream Qobuz at native resolution and possibly other streaming services |
IF you have a PC, with internet, you can stream AM or FM Stereo Radio stations all over the world for free. As well as Pandora free, YouTube music, Amazon Prime ..... If your laptop or PC has bluetooth, .... others can tell you about that. Least costly, but lowest quality, is using a headphone output: 3.5mm jack with a cable that has rca L and R jacks on the other end. I neglected to point out that there is no WiFi available at my remote cabin. I do however, have a couple of bars on my cell for streaming radio stations, thus my plan is to stream through the vintage console. I know I could just get a BT speaker and I do have a small JBL BT speaker which is what I have been using. I am just looking for a bigger sound. |
