Who do you turn to when you have the envies for funk?

FYI, envies, pronounced on-vees, is a cajun term for when you have the need, wants or have to haves for something usually food or music. As I cull and play grade my vinyl collection I am not so very surprised by how much funky music has made its way into my collection and thought it would be interesting to see who others go to for their funk. My go to artist for the most part are War, The Meters, Professor Longhair, Earth Wind and Fire, Sly the Family Stone, J Geils/Peter Wolf, George Clinton, James Brown, and Curtis Mayfield for the most part. Please add yours as I am always looking to get more funk in my life. Thanks for reading. Enjoy the music

@lumakuu - I used to work in record retailing and wholesaling in the 70's and early 80's, and I haven't heard most of those names since back then; we sure did sell a lot of those artists and more....

@sholladay thank you so much for the heads up on the streaming radio station from the U of P and I do plan to enjoy some Funky Friday broadcast in the future. Enjoy the music
