The owner of Vintage HiFi Nut (vintagehifinut.com), Matt, made a number of these for my Fidelium speakers out of wood. They were VERY reasonable in price, and he was able to make them fairly quickly. They came out looking very attractive. I will try to add a photo to my virtual system.

@mike4597 thx! what do you think of the fifelium XLR? |
Jw944ts, for my system, the Fideliums were … “transformative.” I expected some improvement over the quality cables I had (Mogami cabling, custom made) but I was shocked by the massive improvement in both imaging and tonal qualities. I recently sent my monoblocs off for upgrades and had to use another amp (Rega) and cables to drive the Fynes, and the soundstage simply collapsed—I know the amp is also responsible. I have gotten the amps back (as 2 x stereo to vertically bi-amp the Fynes) and have received needed adapters from Silversmith and will be restoring everything into play tomorrow—with two sets of Fideliums!. For me, the Fideliums were a total game changer and are now indispensable. Heck, even my Shetland Sheepdog notices the difference. With the Fideliums in the system, he goes to the general area of the speakers to bark at some songs. Without the Fideliums, he goes right up to the speaker to bark at it.😎 … but true. |
Jw944ts, my apology. At 2:15 AM I missed the XLR part of the question. I am using them between my streamer and preamp; I previously used a pair of AQ RCAs. So, there was a noticeable improvement in reduction of background noise and imaging. It is, however, hard to say whether it came from the switch to XLR or the nature of the Fideliums. The improvement was such that I am keeping in that role. My power amps, after getting them back from Klaus, now have XLR inputs, and I am using DH Labs AirMatrix XLR cables for the 7 and 17 ft runs; would have loved to have Fideliums for that role, but a bit of a stretch financially at the moment due to other depended. I may upgrade at a later date. |
