Altec N1500A crossover rebuild

I'm looking for someone to build a clone of (or rebuild) my N1500A crossovers for my Altec 604E speakers.  Anybody know someone or know where I should start my search?  TIA

Yes, still @ the WHD "Compound".

If you click on my moniker above this post you may be able to use the Message User link, or not (things have changed).

Likewise - happy to see you/in print - Chloe says Hi.

Interesting speakers - not unlike the 15" Stephens Trusonic's my father used when I was a kid.

@kublakhan

Another vote for calling Altec and seeing what they have to say. Who knows, they might have a pair sitting on a shelf somewhere.

All the best.

Forgot to ask what cab's do you have?

Also wondering if Great Plains Acoustics is still in business as aside from stock there was a custom crossover guy who used to post there.

Sorry, no source for a rebuild - just some pessimistic things to confirm.

You have Mastering Labs cab's without the ML crossover and with the stock Altec N1500A's?

604E's came in both 8 and 16 ohm versions, so I would check that out if you do not already have the info.

I would also check the compression driver membranes to see what's in there.

The old Altec drivers drive me crazy (a bit) as there were quite a few variations as well as rebuilds not using original spec parts.

I've never seen or heard Big Reds, just 604's in other cab's including the ugly Gray ones with handles on the sides.

Have you joined the Altec User's Board?
