Items from audiophile's estate, list and photos link provided; helpful advice appreciated!

Hello,

I'm tasked with selling audio equipment from the estate of a late friend. I'm hoping to sell it all as a lot, but may have to list the best of the items individually. For pricing, I tried to find similar items at "SOLD" prices. I then reduced my price by 50% since I haven't tested any of the equipment. I want to be very fair, but the goal, of course, is to help with my friend's final expenses. I'd appreciate any constructive comments; thank you!

in my experience:

you get the most on usaudiomart. It takes time, 3-9 months

you sell fast on ebay, but they keep 15+ percent

it will sell for less and maybe even more random on FB marketplace.

But that requires that you list them all, one by one.

also contact All Elite Audio they are fantastic and could point you in the right direction

Looking at the photos, my sense is that you could sell 10, maybe 15% of it for 10 or 15K, so your original estimate is right. 20 if you get lucky. The rest are unfortunately of little interest today.

Thanks and good luck. In my view, it would be most effective to simply list descriptions in text of the items and prices if you can. The idea of going to a google drive and opening a pdf of a stranger is not something I want to do. But maybe that's just me.

Hello emergingsoul,

There is a link at the bottom of each of the for lists that will take you to some snapshots.

If I were a lot younger, I might've bought some of the pieces myself and put together a system. But it's a bit late for me now. I have a home recording studio, but little of the equipment listed would be useful there.

My friend accumulated the gear over many years, and some of he got for free when he was an audio reviewer for a few magazines. I don't know the history of any of the pieces.

As you suggest, I'll probably have to try another route to sell the equipment. And about the equipment not being tested...I know it would be better otherwise. The task of selling it just happened, and I'm just trying to do the best I can to help pay my friend's final expenses.

Hello parkergetdean,

Thanks for suggesting some sources that might be helpful, and your thoughts on the value of the gear.

Hello hilde45,

I understand your hesitation about opening a link. Very wise, actually! If the entire lot doesn't sell by the end of next week, I'll probably try to sell them as individual pieces. Thanks again for your reply. Have a nice week.
