Items from audiophile's estate, list and photos link provided; helpful advice appreciated!

Hello,

I'm tasked with selling audio equipment from the estate of a late friend. I'm hoping to sell it all as a lot, but may have to list the best of the items individually. For pricing, I tried to find similar items at "SOLD" prices. I then reduced my price by 50% since I haven't tested any of the equipment. I want to be very fair, but the goal, of course, is to help with my friend's final expenses. I'd appreciate any constructive comments; thank you!

I agree.   Your values are below what they should be.   Another alternative is to find a “trusted seller” at Audiogon, EBay and/or FaceTime Marketplace who will photograph, price, list, sell and ship on consignment.   I was able to do exactly that with equipment I wanted to sell and was able to get about $15k net of a 25% consignment fee.   It took about 9 months to sell 40 pieces of gear but if you can be patient, it’s a good way to go.

I started by asking Chat GBT who was within 50 miles of me and had a good track record/reviews.   I the. Did my own research on the names that came up.   Hope this helps.

My local vintage audio repair/sales shop is getting my stuff. Free. Makes it easy for the people handling my estate.

I did not find the list for the prices.  How much are you asking for the Pioneer RT-707 reel to reel tale decks?

Thank you,

Michael

High- end audio is a small niche market.

While some popular items may sell quickly, many other older items may linger and not be price sensitive meaning lowering the price may not help much to sell asap

Thanks for all the nice replies and good advice. I'm new here and didn't see how to reply to individual posts, sorry.

Pscar, I'm glad you agree that my pricing is a little low. When I start to list the best of the collection as individual pieces, I'll review all the prices. Your suggestion about using AI is good, thanks!

Ibmjunkman, you're going to make it easy for those you leave behind! Let's hope it's a long, long time!

Mike1951, I don't have the pieces priced individually on the lists as the goal is to sell everything as a lot. If the collection doesn't sell within the next week, I'll list some of the item individually. I'll keep your message and send you the price for the 707s then. Thanks for your interest!

Kennyc, I agree. I've chose about 35 of the better items to list individually if the lot doesn't sell soon. The 65 or so items I'll list as a very, very cheap lot. Thanks or your thoughts on it!
