The Shunyata Research OMEGA-X-Ethernet Cable

I have the Shunyata Research Omega line for my digital interconnects and alpha cables for the rest of my system. they make great cables. I had the entry level Audioquest ethernet but upgraded to their Diamond Ethernet Cable....very stiff, care for the connection points/ports required!  Also put in a Synergistic Research Ethernet Switch. The combination is great, need nothing more. In my system, It made a difference....

But I am in the camp of "the last three feet matter".

Conversations such as this one are meaningless. Nobody wins, everybody loses. These conversations inevitably turn into name calling, which is not constructive, nor do they help move the conversation forward.

Contributors are on one side or the other - subjective or objective.

Neither opinion will ever convince the other side.

A really good topic that everyone can enjoy without taking sides is a far better use of the space on this forum.

I have extensively listened to the Shunyata catalog, in a properly treated and credentialed Mastering room with evolution acoustics monitors and top quality, amplifier and monitor controller, etc.

... and particularly when it comes to power cords, yet in general across the line, this is not a snake oil company

also ... you totally abuse and misused the concept of virtue signaling… Which makes this post seem like it was made by someone who’s not very smart. 
 

virtue signaling is a very specific thing with a moral component

A cable manufacturer claiming superior performance isn’t making a moral claim at all — they’re making a technical/commercial claim. There’s no virtue being signaled. The right criticism would be something like “marketing hype,” “audiophile snake oil,” or “unsubstantiated performance claims.”

And yet have you done any listening? If we haven’t done any listening, then we should probably shut the F up until we do.

I get the engineering rationale, assuming we can measure for everything. However, I’m reasonably confident that the technology to measure everything has yet to be invented. In the meantime I use my ears.  If a new cable or component, regardless of cost makes an improvement in my ability to listen for enjoyment I’m good with without knowing on the molecular level why that is.

This is a truly sharp-witted and rational realization.

At one point, I was fighting fire with fire. Now, I am fighting fire with water.

To destabilize and eventually put out the flames of ignorance and sheer disrespect.

Others may disagree with my beliefs about all things audio, and they are welcome to. However, I am not going to try and convince the naysayers that I'm right and they're wrong.

As a matter of fact, we are always learning more in this hobby. It makes sense to stay curious and help each other out, rather than get in to pointless conflicts.

I'm always glad when you post because you make sense and have a grounded way of responding to others.
