$35000 to $40,000. speakers what would you buy and why?

I am contemplating purchasing my End game speakers.     The ones that catch my eye are the Magico M3, Magico M project,  Stenheim Alumine 5se, Rockport Cygnus and the Songs Faber Amati Homage G5.   My system consists of  An Aurender N20 feeding a MSB Technology Premier Dac with Premier powerbaye.  Preamp duties are handles by An Audio Research Reference Anniversary and amplification is a pair of Lamm M 2.2 mono blocks. I currently have Magnepan 3.7i's.   I love their transparency and inner detail but they do not play in the low registers.   I do not want separate subs....  My room is mediums sized.  I listen to mostly soft pop, classical and some light rock.   I am trying to walk the thin line of tranparency vs musicality.    I would enjoy some suggestions and some sound reasoning behind members choices in speakers.  I do not want this to morph into a bashing thread.  Please stay on topic.

@chuck   I think I will take everyone's advice and spend time at a show and see which speaker I prefer.  Thank you all!!

Excellent! Keep in mind that some speaker demoes can sound poor due to set-up and room conditions- common in audio shows. Although Magico is my choice house sound, it only sounded meh at one of the AXPONA shows.

Yes - totally agree. For me, the hardest decision was speakers. A entry level used Magico was on my list - until I did a listening session...the sound profile just not for me. I felt the same with the T+A lineup. Both have great reviews and avid followings; I found the sound profile similar, again just not for me. One session really caught my interest, I did not go with them as they are an older product...my bad, as they are great speakers, hence the 20+ yr production run...The Revel Ultima Salon 2.


I did go to an intro/session last month where the developer and owner of Synergistic Research presented the new Atmosphere LogiQ = Brave New World stuff. It was in a reference listening room with impressive gear...the speakers Magico M6; again, just not for me....nor can i afford anything in this price range.

Would offer to expand your price range...$20k - $40k; you may be surprised that you may like the "sound" of a $25k pair compared to others you demo in the $35k range.

I I would suggest you at least consider Fyne Audio, perhaps their F-xx line or even their F-704SP, which comes in at 26k per pair.  I have the plain F-702s—8” woofers supplemented by two Rhythmik subs, but the 704 has a 12” woofer—driven by a Rogue Audio RP-9 tube preamp and Odyssey Audio Kismet monoblocs—just converted to stereo by Klaus to enable me to vertically biamp the 702s.  


The Fynes provide incredible imaging and superb tonal qualities.  I am getting outstanding 3D imaging, and the tonal qualities of both instruments and voices is … well, almost as if the performers are in the room with us.  I can only imagine how much better the upgraded 704SPs would be as our listening are is rather small, so the 702s fit best in our room.with my room size and age, these are the end stage speakers for me.
