Trying Qobuz Connect For the First Time

My Weiss 501 DAC just received the latest Firmware update. I have been using the JPlay interface which  I find to be very transparent and dimensional. So far the Connect sound seems more immediate and somewhat forward. I need to listen a lot more before doing a fair comparison with JPlay.

@zlone Jplay is just a hair down from Squeeze for clarity, and it is just a hair or two down from Roon for UI. Give it a try (if you haven't already). And it is much less expensive than Roon.

FWIW I noticed zero sonic difference after this "huge" April Roon update. Same delta between Roon and Squeeze as there was before.

@mclinnguy  I have a JPLAY license, though it is not technically supported by Antipodes, there are ways to kludge it. I can also skip the server altogether I think and go straight to my network dac. Maybe I will try it again.

@zlone

Yes, it is supported. Use MPD/Minimserver, and there are zero licences/fees for using those.

Although my DSD files don’t go to my DAC natively at the moment with this setup, they are sampled to 384 khz, everything else works like a charm. Kludge is not a word I would use here, I am not the "techiest" guy, and I had it up and running with complete Qobuz integration in about 5 minutes. I have only had Jplay for a few months, and it is one of those moments where I told myself I should have done it years ago.
