Back in the day, when I was actively buying 7" pre-recorded reel to reel tapes, I waited down to 8 seconds, bang, got it. Outbid, no biggie, I had decided my max, that's it. I ended up with 500 of them, the shipping was more that the tapes in those days. I've since sold 150, I should sell more.

Now, I find Yahoo Japan Auctions, join Aleado (bidding agent).

1st item I wanted, I put in my max, and confirmed 30 seconds prior. Someone else won it for less. WTH. Next, I noticed a small note: allow 3 minutes for Aleado to verify funds in you account, then make the bid for you.

You gotta know the rules of the game!

Temporarily Stupid, happily I came to my senses.

One of my all time favorites is Moody Blues, 1st Album, Go Now, (before Justin Hayward).

I’m at a Record Show in a Hotel, very few vendors had tapes. I find a R2R of my favorite, but the guy want’s $8. He won’t come down. I walked away, almost got to my car, then said to myself "You IDIOT. That’s your FAVORITE album, when are you gonna find it again, walk away for what, $2. too much? Idiot!!!!". 

About face, in a hurry now, luckily it was still there. (I have a 2nd copy now).

They were a piano influenced blues group in the beginning, and on the LP, the 1st track had very dynamic piano that always sounded muffled. Whoever cut the LP blew it. On the R2R Tape, it sounds terrific!

I more than highly recommend this album.

@zlone yes, I communicated with the seller. I plan to see it if and when I am NJ/NYC. I am regularly in MA so it may happen later this year. It’s a bit beat up, but cosmetic condition is not my main concern.

@kennyc you are pretty smart my friend and I am, to put it lightly, only learning from my own mistakes (after the 3rd, same one)

@douglas_schroeder nice way of implying I am a loser and sore loser and complaining little b%tch. Yes, possibly. However this is not so much a material, more of an emotional pursuit.
