@prof those are wonderful stories! Thanks for sharing. Vintage speakers definitely have a soul and character, they decide their own advanture.
And several times I had the glitch too, 8 seconds away, my bid rejected and then lost.
the one that got away - how do you handle grief?
I just lost a bid for my dream speakers that I had been chasing for a decade. It was pretty stupid because I missed the last hour and maybe I would have won it with another $100. But maybe it's a sign, it's just a piece of hardware, that I should not be obsessed with. - "you can't always get what you want"
Did you always get the gear you thought would make you whole?

Sorry for your loss. Back in the day I used a bid sniping service so I wasn’t banging on my computer like a gamer. First off this is totally a First World problem, but I’m not discounting your loss. For me I do a 10th step on paper and discuss it with my sponsor. Then I can see my part in it and what God wants for me. This might not seem applicable in this situation, but it can work in all situations. And the Serenity Prayer is good also. FWIT I lost out on my dream girl in my twenties and unfortunately she passed away before she reached 30. Apparently God had other plans. Much Respect, Mike B. |
@buellrider97 this is absolutely a first world problem. I was just wondering where to go from here, keep chasing it, or focus on saving the Oceans Regarding girls that got away, yeah, too many. But all is well, when it ends well. |
I would keep looking for a pair. In my late 20’s and well into my 30’s I went back and obtained motorcycles, cars and things my parents could not afford when I was young. I didn’t snow ski until my mid 20’s because my parents could not afford much. It’s always good to have something fun to look forward to. I’d love to see you save the oceans , too much plastic. Regards , Mike. |
sounds like you did well for yourself @buellrider97 I was raised with one advice from my grandparents: "you are rich if you can buy more food than you need". So I am pretty content with what I have and I don't feel that I deserve it. |
