Electric Recording Company

ERC loaded their latest album this morning

The Stooges

Fun House

They don't last long and rock albums are rare for them if anyone is interested....ACT NOW! : )

i guess i'm glad the Electric Recording Company exists. i admire their approach and all analog commitment. they have some great titles. i own one and it's good, but not super. all that said, the sound from ERC pressings i have heard is not nearly good enough to justify the retail price, nor the speculative price either. they are fine records to own, but not even somewhat reasonable values in the expensive pressing market.

at this point no interest in considering their offerings, but wish them good luck.

Michael Fremer has a nice article about them explaining the resulting sound. They are purists and make no enhancements whatsoever to try and deliver a record that is as close to being in the studio as possible. You only live once so I wanted to try one. Original pressings of this album are going for even more. With the market, hopefully I can listen a few times and at least come close to breaking even if this sound doesn’t impress.

ERC is about to release the Doors LA Woman any have experience with their rock releases. It’s hard to believe they are worth anywhere near the price especially with all the other reissues around.

Fun House sounded great but I also had no other pressing to compare it to.  Streaming it on Qobuz also sounds great.  I ended up selling mine for a minimal loss of about $50 and was fine with that for the experience to try an ERC record.  Fun House was also not anything special for me so I really didn't care that much.  If LA Woman is a special album for you and you have the cash, go for it!
