Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

@vthokie83 - yes indeed, Little Feat! Lisner Auditorium was their home away from home; the two places Feat were most popular was LA, where they were from, and the DC area, thanks to being championed by WHFS (I'm originally from Silver Spring).

Let’s not forget Buddy Guy.

I met him twice at his club in Chicago. 2nd time I gave him a tongue-lashing about not coming to NYC.

Shortly thereafter he came to Tramps (sadly gone). Thus I take full credit for his coming to NYC. Hah.

I got a dozen tickets, friends said hell yes, it was a mobbed mess, they took the tables out, standing room only. Awesome.

Next, right after being inducted to the Hall of Fame, saw him at BB Kings, NYC. Amazing show. He came off the stage right side, wandered thru the crowd, along the raised bar area, the whole length, back thru the crown to a door left side, back on the stage.

People were popping shots with flashes, and even though you couldn’t see him thru the people, the reflections off people and the ceiling was like a lightning show traveling thru the place.

Next, Count Basie Theater, Red Bank NJ, Double Header with BB King. same thing, I got a dozen tickets, a bunch came. Sadly, they only did one song together as a transition from BB to Buddy. I felt that was the moment Buddy took on the role of Ambassador of the Blues.
