DAC for WiiM Pro Plus

Just "inherited" a WiiM Pro Plus and find it very easy and stable to use, and sounds good. Wondering if there would be benefits to using an external DAC, and if so what DAC's have been found to match well.

@knock1 my apologies. Haven’t had the WiiM in the house for some months (it was here only very briefly) and I forgot about that older thread.

System as of now will be Totem SkyLight monitors, upgraded Parasound Zamp v3. amplifier and Schiit Saga 2 preamp. Rotel CD11 Tribute.

@thecarpathian  I guess that means you lead a stable life (?). But I encourage a visit to Palermo, if you haven’t been; there you can walk (or drive if you are very brave) through the Cuckolds’ Gate.  (Porta Felice, which has no crossbeam and as such the cuckold with his horns can pass through easily. The story of that nickname is a testament to the wicked humor of the locals. https://carapalermo.com/2022/01/30/storie-di-corna-a-porta-felice/)

Even more amusingly, at least for those of use who appreciate the difference a single vs double letter makes, a very good gelato shop is right across from the Gate and, so, you can sit on the seawall and enjoy a cornutto while admiring the Porta dei Cornuti.

I have a WiiM Pro in a small system I am setting up in a spare bedroom.  I found a tremendous deal on a FiiO K11 R2R DAC.  Sounds really good.  I was very pleasantly surprised.  The DAC has gotten great reviews and now it seems deservedly so.  It’s pretty cheap even brand new.  I sure recommend it.

So many DACs out there.  What is your budget?  What about other equipment?  Any preference for certain type of soundstage?  Some things to consider relative to your purchase.
