Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

I mentioned I went to small NJ clubs, live performances, mostly Blues, twice a week for over 20 years. My good friend Nasty Ned (Nicholas Petti)

This is 20 years ago

hosted an open mic called ’American Roots’ for 4 years, this is a batch of the performers one typical night

’Where have these people been?’ you might exclaim. Many don’t have bands, just wonderful musicians who happen to be Insurance Salesmen .... The good stuff happens late!

He moved to Arizona, left that Neon Sign with me.

Pete Seeger’s 90th Birthday, Madison Square Garden, damn good seats on the floor, was anyone else there? My son showed us the ultrasound of our first grandchild that night.

I posted some concert photos, page 4 here on dpreview

If you like musician photos, that is a ’mini-challenge’ themed Gigs, start on page 1. My photos, a big pink E on the left side if you scroll quickly

July 13, 1985 Live Aid at JFK Stadium in Philly. Went on a whim with 2 college buddies and it became one of my greatest memories especially now that one has passed. May not of been the best actual concert (David Bowie private show at Avalon in Boston in 1996 might be it or any of the U2, Police shows around Boston in the late 70's) but it was the entire experience of Live Aid that was so special. Good friends, the music and just the time in my life that make it my greatest show. Also, unrelated, it's amazing after skimming through this how old some members are... shows in the 60's? Hendrix? Impressive!!

Dave Brubeck, age 82, Carnegie Hall, Speaking of Steinway Grand D’s

I went to Steinway's NYC Showroom once, Incredible. Current Location

Why do I remember it being across the street from Carnegie Hall way back when I went? Perhaps a Steinway dealer's showroom?
