So This Denon DP75 Followed Me Home

So a local acquaintance decided to part with this gem. We had our music group meeting, and he brought this down for me. So no shipping, just shuttled from one car to another.

The Denon DP75 has been restored by Peter at PBN Audio. The Denon DK110 plinth and dustcover is in nice shape. The arm board has mounting bolt holes drilled for a Dynavector DV505, which I just happen to have. So I bolted it on. Has mag lev feet too.

My son is going to machine me a plinth for my Denon DP80 from uhmw or hdpe polymer material. I will move this tonearm over to that table. Who knows what I put on this one. The table and plinth are far more heavier than I thought they would be.

I have a Denon headshell that is been treated none to kindly by its previous owner, but I will throw it on. I think it would be better than these Stanton ones that came with the arm.

This one has a Sumiko Blackbird Lo installed on the tonearm, and playing nicely. I have always liked the previous generation Blackbird with the elliptical stylus, and I like this one even more. An underrated cartridge. Listening to it tonight, and really cannot fault it for anything. My SOTA Cosmos Eclipse with Origin Live Agile tonearm is more dense, with a greater degree of warmth and texture, but the difference in cost is significant. The Denon is easy to use and a great casual player for me. 

I paid for 5 pieces of UMHW polymer yesterday, 24 x24 x 1, and that is meant for machining a plinth for my DP80. I don't know if I will move the Dynavector off this table, it was originally slated to be paired with the DP80. But this just works together so nicely. I really have too many tables, but I just could not pass up these Denon. They are great machines, set a benchmark for what affordable analog is. With any luck I will have the DP80 in the new plinth in a couple of weeks.
