Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

Three more very special shows I was fortunate enough to see and hear:

- Little Village (John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, Jim Keltner) on a soundstage in Burbank at the time of the release of their sole album (ignoring their earlier appearance together on John Hiatt's Bring The Family album). VERY few Pop/Rock bands are comprised of members with this much combined talent.

- Van Dyke Parks and a small orchestra in the performance theater located in the rear of McCabes Guitar Shop in Santa Monica in the late-90's or early-ought's. Van Dyke very rarely performs live. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear this genius live on stage.

- Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham opening for Nick Lowe and his band at the Pantages Theater in the 90's. Poor Nick: he had to follow Dan and Spooner, and paled in comparison.

Van Morrison in the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville a few years ago. Front row pew. Was not too close for perfection.

@glennstereo -I listen to Band of Gypsies periodically and I'm blown away at "Machine Gun." I don't think I fully appreciated that show, as a teenager.

@gruvjet -I played DP31 earlier today. Been a longtime since I've listened to Summer '74 shows. Thanks for reminding me :-)

Headyversion is interesting! Looking through it this morning, with coffee, I noticed how many 1977 versions of songs are considered best by voters.

Did I forget to say I think Bob Dylan is one of the Best Songwriters EVER!

Here’s Mandarin Orange’s version of one of my favorites.

Who the hell was lucky enough to be at one of his all time best concerts?
