Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

as an aside, I’ve been thinking about posting this"

’Ron Carter, age 89, has still got it.’ Saw him May 6th, also at the Blue Note

He had a wonderful Quartet with

Pianist: Donald Vega

Sax: Jimmy Greene

Drums: Payton Crosley

They played like they've been together for many years.

My friend can’t stand being surrounded, so even though seating is 1st come, 1st choice, and we were early, he kept going and going, until the last table against the wall, I had never been so far.

Well, we had a sideways view, over the drummer, and I’ve never witnessed all the tricky and subtle things he did with symbols, drums, sticks, brushes, tom toms ... It was like watching Leon Redbone’s horn man with a box of vintage gizmos.

We would never have been aware of what Payton was doing if we sat in front.

SRV at the Charleston WV Municipal Auditorium. Sat down in my seat and next to me is one of my friends from high school.

And my last concert. Greene Day American Idiot tour. Terrible seats but the energy of the crowd was amazing. I was probably the oldest person there.

And one more, first time I saw The Outlaws and hearing Green Grass and High Tides.

And then, Bill Monroe at Aunt Minnies Farm.

Johnny Cash, June Carter, Tennessee Three, and Carl Perkins at L. C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, MI, 1976.
