Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

@parkergetdean -One of the great things about this web board is the opportunity to respond both in-kind, and the expand on the original intentions of the person who started the thread. When I responded to Tom Carr's question, I recognized I could not choose one "best concert."

Looking through the thread, I noticed you haven't answered, "the question." I have to ask why this apparently bugs you, and elicits a snarky comment, in the form of a question? In the immortal words of Sergeant Hulka, "Lighten up, Francis."

I've seen so many over the last 40 years- all my favorites. But the one that was the best was not even on my favorite list- surprisingly it was Rod Stewart in 2024. Amazingly well done- many and varied instruments, amazingly good sound quality. I was stunned.

Stephen Stills & Manassas, Mississippi River Festival, Edwardsville Illinois 1974.

Richard Thompson band, Rockefellers, Houston 1982

Had an In on tickets in Detroit in the 70’s. So if they came, I saw them. My 3 favorites:

1. 1970 Olympia stadium. Johnny Winter, Rod Stewart, 3 Dog Night. My first major concert.
2. 1972 Cobo Hall. Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones. Because Stevie was from Detroit, they jammed together at the end, playing “Uptight” & “Satisfaction”.
3. 1975 Olympia. Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton. Again, jamming together at the end. Fantastic.
