Can This Idea Be A Viable Resource

I’ve been thinking about traveling more now that my wife and I are fully retired. Which lead to me to wonder and lament in equal measure about how I miss my sound system when we travel for a lengthly - more than a week - duration. The idea is can us like minded, trusting but willing to accept liability guidelines, folks, create a network of homes we are willing to rent / trade out - with audiophile grade systems we can shop = like we presently do when we plan a vacation? I would love to spend a week or two in a home with a killer rig that I can test drive -

I'm with @elliottbnewcombjr on this and anyone who comes into the Orange County, CA area, with a real interest in sound, is welcome to stop by for a listen if they just make arrangements.

Sounds like Audigon should add a topic on the Forums: “Hosting/ISO Listening Meet Ups for Visiting Audiophiles” ?  I think it would be a great resource.

Few of us would countenance renting out our systems in our houses. My uncle did a house swap in Europe and the partners from Europe trashed his house. We like repositioning cruises from Australia or Asia to Seattle/Vancouver for the Alaska season. The ship has venues with live music and dance floors with pro audio systems. Stops in places you probably wouldn't otherwise go. We were in 50 foot seas for two days on the way to Kodiak Island from Yokohama. The Captain sailed a dog leg course out into the open ocean so we could turn and run with the swell up to Kodiak. 80,000 ton ship surfing down the faces. Thrusters holding us straight.

I would never trust a stranger with my system.
Break a cartridge = $$$$. A scratch. A dent. Speaker damage.
Any damage I’m without recourse, even if they pay it will only get me back to start.

Even a rental as a business, I’d be hesitant to even include an inexpensive system - no-minimal return on investment.
