Leonard Pinth-Garnell!
Fking Brilliant.
We all know there’s a considerable percentage of "us" who are partly or mostly driven by AudioNervosa. At this point, I’m inwardly thrilled that I rarely give a crap anymore about equipment and I rarely think about changing things up because my stereo (music) sounds pretty damned good everytime I’m listening. I think that’s one of the main factors in why there’s no real consideration given to the over 50 demographic in merchandising media. At one point, for whatever reason, you just fall off of that driven give me, give me, I want, I need, I would be complete with..mindset.
Every one of my stereos since the mid-90s were really fking good in different ways. It was a certain sweet spot I was looking for that I’ve eventually been able to find and make happen. And at this point I’d like to change my speakers but every time I get close to making that determination, I remember how much I hate schlepping, storing and selling speakers.
Anyway, being a music lover who likes well chosen equipment for about 40 something years, I’ve always enjoyed Ken Kessler’s writing and extremely good reviews. I’ve never seen him in all that time. Just never saw a photo or seen him speak. He isn’t what I imagined.
