Humminguru Nova

I’ve assembled more or less a decent analog front end. I have a few hundred records in my collection that consists of new and old vinyl - mostly mint or near mint. Now I have been buying new vinyl recently. I use Knosti Disco Antistat to wash records - one for wash, one for rinse. The records air dry.

Would a Nova be a significant step up from the Knosti? Would it be effective with new vinyl? Any reason I shouldn’t get it?

@jr1000 If you can swing the Nova do it. I never tried the base version but I can tell you the Nova works great. Used records that are dirty still need a manual wash as step one but for new or super clean used vinyl you’re good to go with the HG.

Here’s the thing about dirty bargain-bin records: run them through the Nova 2–3 times. An all-in-one ultrasonic cleaner is really the way to go—unless you’ve got nothing better to do with your time. And Nova is absolute bargain for what it does compare to other high-end more expensive ultra sonic cleaners.

99% of my record cleaning is new vinyl and I’ve had the Guru actually kick out some post manufacturing process plastic debris lodged in a groove that was causing a skip on an Analog Productions Scheherezade LP. Long cycle in the Guru got rid of that completely.
