Upgrade from B&W 802D1 to Focal Utopia Scala Evo

If you had the chance to upgrade from  the B&W 802D1 to the  FOCAL UTOPIA SCALA EVO, which would you choose and why?

@onehorsepony I would start with cables that are on the amplifiers - power cords, speaker cables, interconnects.
But again, unless you have 200hrs on the speakers, I wouldn’t touch a thing. You just don’t know what the sound is and in what direction you should be going with any upgrades.

I'm not, I'm just letting them run when I go out, I have about 150 hours on them now.

I'm not familiar with analog EQs, just know of McIntosh MQ112 and Schiit Loki Max as mentioned.

I really don’t know what to expect after waiting 300 to 400 hours for these speakers to break in. I’m playing them mostly when I’m not home, so there is a disconnect between the speakers ’breaking in’ or my brain ’breaking in’. Yes, I’m skeptical that anyone would design a speaker that needs such a long time to break in.

@bartsw I recently changed amps.  I was using a Mark Levinson 532H, 300 wpc amp, on my B+W 802 D2 speakers. I was never happy with the bass. The ML 532H does not double down, so it's 300 wpc at 8 ohms, not rated at anything else. I put in Class D monoblocks, 380 wpc at 8, 700 wpc at 4 and 2 ohms.  The BASS is incredible. You can hear individual notes being played on the bass guitar. The kick drum is obvious. My point is, you need an amp that doubles down into 4 ohms.
