Oppo BDP-93 remote/sensor issue

Any idea why the unit would stop responding to remote commands?  The remote itself lights up, but not sure if it's transmitting or if it's a problem with the player receiving.  I've refreshed the batteries, cleaned off all pertinent areas of the remote and IR receiver window.  The unit's 7 buttons are fine, but I can only play CD OR SACD on it, since I can't maneuver the menu on any video discs (BLU-RAY, DVD, etc).  All those buttons are on the remote.  Any help out there please?

Thanks !

With my Oppo 105, it would just stop responding to commands, whether by remote or by direct use of the controls on the unit. That happened two tines in 10 years, and on both occasions, I shut off the unit, disconnected it from the preamp, and unplugged it overnight. When I plugged it in the next morning, all was well.

I assume the computer brain got zapped by static or something.

@dtorc I unplugged the unit from everything last night and moved it away from the system.  I'll try again later to see if any changes.  Thanks for the input.

I crack my remotes and/or keyboards apart,

blow dirt with a compressor; then a small brush dipped in alcohol, I clean the whole pc board, the rubber buttons, .... everything; again blow it dry with compressed air (you can buy a can of it if you don’t have a shop compressor)

a few times, I have needed to scrape the metal where the batteries contact with a small knife.

btw, mostly I get them working, but you win some/you lose some.

Recently a Sony TV remote refused to bounce back after my procedure, I found a Sony replacement on eBay, low cost, works great.
