Oppo BDP-93 remote/sensor issue

Any idea why the unit would stop responding to remote commands?  The remote itself lights up, but not sure if it's transmitting or if it's a problem with the player receiving.  I've refreshed the batteries, cleaned off all pertinent areas of the remote and IR receiver window.  The unit's 7 buttons are fine, but I can only play CD OR SACD on it, since I can't maneuver the menu on any video discs (BLU-RAY, DVD, etc).  All those buttons are on the remote.  Any help out there please?

Thanks !

You’ve done what AI suggests, it does mention using the phone camera and flashing the remote at it to see if it emits a signal. Other than that get a replacement remote. Here’s one on Amazon for cheap with a return poilicy. Cheers , Mike B.  https://a.co/d/0i1kCZYP

@buellrider97 I’m not quite understanding the phone camera suggestion.   Please kindly explain.   Thanks for the amazon link.  looks good.  Thanks.

Apparently the camera on our phones can see the signal when our eyes can’t. Put the question in AI and maybe you can understand the answer better than I. I had a similar problem with the remote on my Yamaha DSP receiver and had to buy a replacement remote.

With my Oppo 105, it would just stop responding to commands, whether by remote or by direct use of the controls on the unit. That happened two tines in 10 years, and on both occasions, I shut off the unit, disconnected it from the preamp, and unplugged it overnight. When I plugged it in the next morning, all was well.

I assume the computer brain got zapped by static or something.
